This morning, I replied to one of my social media followers, “The best promotion you get in your life is when you become a parent.” It made me realize that my dreams have changed. I always aspired to be promoted at work, but instead, I found a different kind of promotion in life. Each of us chooses a field to work hard in and get promoted. My chosen field is life—to find happiness and enjoy every day by raising a new generation. A generation that can contribute to making the world a peaceful place. I’m grateful to Allah (God) for giving me this opportunity.
After deciding to quit my job to stay home and raise my kids, I stressed myself out for a good amount of time. I felt like I had given up pursuing certain things to take care of them. I went from an established career to becoming a housewife, mother, and 24-hour operations director for my husband and kids.
However, I have no regrets about being a mom or spending most of my time with my kids. Time is valuable and must be spent doing the right things. Our kids need attention, love, and support, so let’s prioritize spending more time with them.
