While I was walking with my boss in the garden talking business, something caught my eye, and I had to stop, and as always, my phone’s camera is always ready. Some beautiful flowers growing out of rocks. I was curious, So I did some research online to learn about those flowers. They are called Phlox leaves. They grow best in areas with moderate temperature. Typically, the blooms on this plant are shades of pink and purple. This is a plant that has a longer stem, which means that it will be able to cover rocks and add depth to your garden. Amazing!
I always look at rocks, the different shapes and colors. Do you know that a lot of beautiful things can come out of rocks? Yeah, you know…silly question!
But do you know that rocks are composed primarily of grains of minerals? No, you don’t know.
They are crystalline solids formed from atoms chemical bonded into an orderly structure. Some rocks also contain mineraloids, which are rigid, mineral-like substances. The types and abundance of minerals in a rock are determined by the manner in which it was formed.
Most rocks contain silicate minerals, compounds that include silica tetrahedra in their crystal lattice, and account for about one-third of all known mineral species and about 95% of the earth’s crust. The proportion of silica in rocks and minerals is a major factor in determining their names and properties.

Amazing what can come out of rocks! I love houses made of rocks, and one of the places I want to visit is the village of Foroglio, Switzerland.

The town of Foroglio lies in Bavona Valley (Val Bavona), arguably the wildest one among the valleys of Ticino. This spectacular side valley is part of the Maggia Valley. The whole region is part of the Lepontine Alps – a mountain range that covers various parts of Switzerland (Valais, Ticino, Uri, Graubünden) and Italy (Piedmont and Lombardy). https://www.touringswitzerland.com/the-scenic-village-of-foroglio-switzerland/
One day, I will take the Panoramic Switzerland train and come to you Foroglio.
Rocks were also mentioned in poems. The famous romantic poet, Nizar Qabbani, said”وكيفَ أمحوكِ مِن أوراقِ ذاكِرتي؟
“وأنتِ في القلبِ مثلُ النقـشِ في الحجرِ
Translation: How can I erase you from the papers of my memory? And you in my heart like engraving in stone”
Another beautiful thing that comes out of rocks is water. Les cascades! A river or other body of water’s steep fall over a rocky ledge into a plunge pool below. The process of erosion, the wearing away of earth, plays an important part in the formation of waterfalls. Waterfalls themselves also contribute to erosion.
Often, waterfalls form as streams flow from soft rock to hard rock. This happens both laterally (as a stream flows across the earth) and vertically (as the stream drops in a waterfall). In both cases, the soft rock erodes, leaving a hard ledge over which the stream falls. -National Geographic-

Linville Waterfalls, in the Blueridge Mountains. We hiked 2 miles to get to this beautiful view. I discovered something wonderful about rocks and water.
A lot of other things grow or come out of rocks. I challenge you to look around and give me examples of what other things that can come out of rocks.
The Rocks also remind me a poem about Eagles. Our greatest poet Allama Iqbal says that You don’t have to be on the Dom of Qasre Sultan,
You are an Eagle, live in the mountain rocks.
By this, the poet means that we should understand our true value and should dare to live in higher places.
Other birds love to be at places where the food is easily a available. But the Eagle doesn’t come at such places. Because it has higher standards. He preys and then eats.

And we should all follow the eagle’s principles. Allama Iqbal is indeed a great author and poet. I red his book “The Secrets of Selflessness” That was so deep!
