Do looks really matter in life? Clothes, hair, facial expression, and skin tone?
“Les apparences sont trompeuses. On ne vit que d’illusions. Les apparences sont infiniment plus savoureuses que les réalités. Les apparences sont si souvent trompeuses, que le commun n’y voit que coïncidence hasardeuse..” French Quote
Translation:
Appearances are deceptive. We only live on illusions. Appearances are infinitely tastier than realities. Appearances are so often deceiving that the common people only see it as a hazardous coincidence.
Let me give you an example:
Example: Two women ( friends) walking down the street, both in their 30s. One has long hair, makeup, short dress, and heels, oh wait…size 0!!! The other one is modest, wearing pants, jacket or sweater, flat shoes, size 8. The first one smiles with every guy that walks by, the second one pay attention to no one. Now, the question:
Which one of them will get more attention? and why? Which one is emotionally intelligent, optimistic, positive, honest, caring, and passionate?

Beauty and materials won’t make people smart! Louis Vuitton outfit will not change who you are! I see some celebrities on TV, wearing millions of dollars suits, dresses, and diamonds; however, they’re a bunch of idiots! But they still get admired for their look and stupidity.
In other hand, they are some intelligent individuals that are simply overpassed. for example, an activist, politician, and author whom the entire world mocked his cute mittens and appearance at the presidential inauguration…Bernie Sanders.

There are others who are obsessed with material possession. Many people care about less healthy aspects of their self-image though. They want to be seen as cool, trendy, wealthy, successful and all of the other nonsense that come with them.
I remember I attended an afternoon tea last month with some friends and friends of friends. Some of them were house-wives of visiting businessmen from Dubai, and Qatar. Their entire conversation was about their Mercedes cars, who has the newest version of Mercedes, vacation in the Maldives, shopping, and Botox. I felt nauseous listening to their conversation! I remember I left early. They were definitely not my clique.
Remember, all that glitter is not gold! William Shakespeare
And don’t lose a diamond while chasing glitter.

I think it is our natural inclination to get attracted towards beautiful people and those who are very fastidious in terms of what they wear. But, this has an impact till they speak and start interacting with you. If they are not optimistic, well-mannered, caring, generous or civilized, no one wants to give a fuck about them.. 😀
