Trust

To trust someone, you believe that they are honest and sincere and will not deliberately do anything to harm you.

I have a trust issue! And that’s due to some past incidents…some childhood trauma, and some betrayal in relationships. Doesn’t really have to be a romantic relationship failure. This can be family relationship problem as well.

I just can’t overcome my trust issues. I am working on it, but I’m struggling to trust others.

I don’t feel comfortable. I developed some sort of anxiety! A disorder!

I know a lot of other people who suffer from the same issue or other issues like honesty. We all faced some disappointment in our lives.

I kind of try to find a way and help myself, and I like to share with others. Maybe I can help someone else like me.

Earn my trust: I start to get over trust issues by allowing people to earn my trust.

Trusting someone too quickly who I just met can backfire, as can doubting someone who has done nothing to cause me to not trust them. But I’m taking safe emotional risks with people who have not harmed or betrayed me.

Take safe emotional risks: I am Allowing myself to practice trusting in small, safe ways. Taking someone at their word. Giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Fight my doubts: I keep Reminding myself that most of the world is not out to “get” me, just because some betrayals I had experienced in the past doesn’t mean there are many out there waiting to do the same.

Talk about it: I am lucky to have a friend who is a doctor and has a lot of wisdom. She keeps reminding me that I deserve to be happy in this life.

You don’t have to have a friend who is a doctor. Having the opportunity to discuss your feelings with someone can not only make you feel good, but can provide you with a new perspective as well.

Dealing with trust issues is always a daunting process, however, the sooner you allow yourself to find love and friendship again, you will be able to fully embrace life again.

And that applies to me as well!
