First, I am sad to see some other bloggers disappear (i.e., they quit blogging and deleted their blogs.)
My only advice to bloggers is if you ever feel overwhelmed by blogging, then take a break from blogging but don’t delete your blog. You have readers who appreciate your writing. Maybe your blog brings happiness to others or motivates them somehow.
My blog brings me joy and peace. I remember I started blogging back in 2019 then I went silent for two years.
Now I am back, and I won’t quit.
I know, sometimes, I don’t know what to write about, and sometimes I feel so exhausted from a long day of life, but I always make every effort to go back to my blog and write.
How to stay motivated?
Build a habit:
Build a habit out of it. Set up reminders, and if you cannot blog every day, commit to one post a week. Do not try to do too much at once. You can also head to a coffee shop, play jazz or any other soothing music, and write.
Network:
If you are a new blogger, you can learn more from other fellow bloggers through networking. No matter which profession you are in, networking always helps. Comment on other bloggers posts and tell them how much you appreciate their contents. Ask them for tips and ways that can help you write better.
Edit Your Blog:
Currently, I am looking to edit my blog. Add pages, edit some posts, and delete some old ones. I am managing some other websites that belong to professors I assist, and I found different ways to make a blog stand out. Make use of those WordPress webinars and pieces of training they offer.
Get Visual:
Once you have your basic structure pinned down, get some images. They break up your blog into easily digestible pieces, illustrate the point further, and look fantastic. http://www.pexels.com has some cool free pictures. Check it out.
Just Write:
By this simple “write” I mean that you should put your outlined ideas down how they come out naturally. Just let them flow and don’t worry about the details. Save your drafts, proofread, reword awkward sentences, check for flow, deliberate every comma (I am the worst at that,) and ensure the post reads well and is flawless in spelling and grammar. Then post.
I hope this is helpful. Don’t quit blogging!
Cheers,
Iman
