I do not rely on schools and what they teach our kids.
I like to take them with me outside, get them involved in events and activities. I like them to explore, experience, ask questions, and learn.
Today, I am so proud of my son for participating in the 5K walk/run for PanCan PurpleStride. PurpleStride is the ultimate walk to end pancreatic cancer. My son and I will never forget how attending PurpleStride made us feel – empowered, hopeful, excited, proud, and so much more. 💜

As parents, we all want our children to grow up healthy and successful. We also want our children to be grateful for what they have been given and have compassion for those who are in need. Teaching your children the spirit of giving, showing them the importance of thinking of others, and modeling kindness are important ways to help children grow into productive and loving members of our world.

When we involve the child early in community activities, he/ she develops a more contextualized understanding of fellow humans and their perceptions.
