If you could un-invent something, what would it be?

This year, I had the opportunity to meet some intelligent individuals. However, what I realized is that intelligence is not a universal trait. We all have our strengths and weaknesses, and being smart in one field doesn’t necessarily translate to being smart in other areas of life.
For instance, individuals like Albert Einstein and Robert Oppenheimer were undoubtedly brilliant in their respective fields of physics and nuclear science. However, they were still human, and like everyone else, they had their flaws and limitations.
Recently, I watched a movie about Robert Oppenheimer who is famously known for leading the Manhattan Project, which ultimately led to the development of the atomic bomb. While watching the movie, I had several moments where I was left wondering about the complexities of intelligence and its consequences.
Despite Oppenheimer’s intelligence and his contribution to the development of the atomic bomb, he failed to recognize the full impact of his creation, which ultimately led to catastrophic consequences.
However, I believe it is unfair to solely blame Oppenheimer for the atomic bomb’s catastrophic effects. If it wasn’t him, someone else would have eventually developed it. The first nuclear explosion was going to happen regardless. So, let’s not solely blame the individual but rather the circumstances and the collective decision-making process that led to such an outcome.
We cannot create or uncreate anything from scratch. Our purpose is to live, love, learn, make mistakes, grow, and innovate. The upcoming generation might invent things beyond our imagination.
If given the chance to halt or recreate something, I would choose social media. It has become catastrophic. When I scroll through Instagram, for instance, I come across people doing things that were either embarrassing or forbidden in the past.
Influencers undressing themselves in front of the camera is a recurring theme. I am not interested in their body shape. If I clicked on someone’s page, it was merely because I liked the purse they were holding, for example. Why are they posing naked and dressing in front of cameras? These individuals are not intelligent at all. I consider them to be akin to donkeys, even though donkeys are good animals.
We cannot prevent anyone from inventing anything. We must concentrate on what is right and what is wrong. We must teach our children about right and wrong. May God protect our children.
Amen!
