Summer Activities for Kids (part 4)

It’s really hard to keep kids entertained during summer break! I struggle from time to time to keep my kids busy. I have to find new ideas, activities, and chores everyday.

She’s cute! But wait until she throws a fit!

There are a lot of fun things to do with our kids this summer. Summer camps are fun but expensive, and if you can’t afford that, you can create a fun environment for the kids at home.

Also, back to school coming soon. I like to get my kids ready for school, and we are going back to our everyday reading hobbit.

But first:

– Let’s draw and color:

Coloring can be done with packaged books and pages, matching kids interests and abilities. As free-form coloring and drawing are introduced, kids nurture their creativity. In either case, learning can be introduced according to the child’s age and ability. For instance, kids can “Count the number of trains on the page” or “Name all the different animals in the picture.” You can focus on learning numbers, colors, geography, history, and even spelling. Similarly, parents can ask kids to draw a scene from their favorite book. Older topics can be introduced via drawing as kids mature, potentially even tapping interests in design, graphics, or architecture.

And here’s some printable coloring pages.

– Brain Quest Workbooks:

These books are incredibly amazing! I wish I had one when I was a kid! But I am glad my kids have a great opportunity through me (their curious mama) to learn, discover, and become smarter.

They are available online,Barnes & Noble, and Target. different levels and grades.

My kids actually like doing them, and they seem age appropriate without being too difficult, so it has some easier pages with more challenging, which keeps my kids engaged. I’d definitely recommend.

– Let’s Organize Our Bookshelf:

We have more books than what’s in the picture. I keep the classic books away so my daughter doesn’t rip the pages. She destroyed Aladdin book. 🤦🏻‍♀️

The above are few things we (parents) can do to adjust our kids for an easy and smooth back to school.

Please share with me any other get ready to go back to school ideas for parents and kids.
