Murals and Conversations

I find it fascinating how I believe I receive messages or signs from a higher power by observing others.

While touring Algiers, Algeria, I took pictures of a muralist painting a wall that seemed to need repair. It was evident that the wall was deteriorating and would likely collapse one day.

The artist painted the wall, making it look colorful, bright, and attractive. When I asked him why he painted a wall destined to be destroyed, he explained that perhaps his painting would draw the attention of the authorities, and they might consider fixing it.

He also mentioned that the drawings and paintings tell a story in his mind. Art is another way for him to tell stories.

I deeply admire individuals who can bring about change through seemingly small actions. It’s truly inspiring to see how a simple gesture or a thoughtful deed can have a lasting impact.

I realize that while not everyone can accomplish monumental feats, each of us has the power to do small things infused with profound love and intention. It’s the heart behind those actions that truly make a difference.
